Finding Your Ring Size
How to Measure your Finger
- Find a piece of string or strip of paper no wider than 3/4".
- Wrap it around the base of the appropriate finger.
- Mark the point where the string/paper overlaps to form a complete circle.
- With a ruler, measure the length from the start of the string/paper to the mark.
- Apply this measurement to the chart on the right to find your ring size.
Tips for Measuring Ring Size:
- After sliding the ring size over the knuckle, make sure it slides off just as easily.
- Don't measure fingers when cold, since they contract and will appear smallest.
- You’ll get the most accurate measurement at the end of the day when the finger is at its largest.
- If you're buying the ring as a surprise, ask a relative or close friend of your partner if they know their finger size.
- Borrow one of your partner's rings and slide it down a tapered candle. Repeat above finger-measuring exercise with string/paper, but using the point on the candle where the ring stopped.
